“I basically blew it,” Pulley says now. “I just wasn’t focused. I didn’t seize the opportunity and I didn’t actually realize what I had until I got a little older and more mature.”
“I wish I could have given them all of my talent,” Pulley said. “I feel like I shortchanged them with my effort while I was there. It was definitely my fault.”
After Snyder booted Pulley off the team, eligibility issues again prevented him from playing basketball for three years before he wound up at Texas College in 2007 under coach Matt Cross. When Pulley arrived at the NAIA school, Cross said it took a few months to train him for the rigors of college basketball. By the time Pulley worked himself into basketball shape, a familiar problem occurred. He was ineligible for the first semester.
