that his bombastic personality can be used as a suit of armor. His opponents are so focused on Trump the man that his policies have been pretty much unchallenged.

I don’t care for Trump the man, I never did. But Trump the president has been very good. If he actually had the support of the GOP he would be even better. He has done an excellent job of keeping his campaign promises, or at least trying to. I do not remember a single president who kept as many promises as Trump.

I think a number of political analysts have nailed it with Trump. His supporters take him seriously but not literally. His detractors take him literally but not seriously. That has been a serious mistake on their part and one I hope they continue to make.
