The NFL and the individual teams took your position last year, and thought it was silly, and suffered greatly for their stupidity. They got schooled by the fans.

They understand what you clearly do not. The fans have the final say in this matter; and this is what the fans said: Deal with it, or you will lose a lot of money. They dealt with it.
