Watch the movie Gonzo on HST. He says that he did nothing but REPORT that there was a rumor that Muskie was on drugs. He just reported it was rumored. Then he laughs and says "or course, I started that rumor". It is an old trick. And Don had Sean and comp yacking and yacking and yacking away to prop it up.
