I take it you are not from a family that wasn't close or have a relative that is well known and respected for the work he does.
I'm not saying your wrong either, but I know for damn sure you're not 100% right either. It seems pretty clear that the Porter family is pretty close knit.
I had a two cousins that lived in California while I was growing up in MO and we stayed close and neither of them had high profile jobs similar to what my interests were.
But, if I was a 17ish kid with a relative that was known for his work that could help me and especially if I was from a close family I would certainly consider it.
But the fact everyone here is really over looking is not a cousin, but a head coach that may play a style he would play for money. Or a head coach that would rather have a kid from his own HS rather than from a kid that has grown up in California. The head coach just left there to come back to his home area.
If the kid is really interested in leaving California, and even maybe for playing for Cuonzo it sure wouldn't hurt to have a relative on your side.
Of course, there is one more thing no being considered. Does our Christopher like his young cousin. He might be the one that doesn't want anything to do with a relative.
I've known a couple of Black Sheep guys in my life.
