factors.

In the case of Tomasello being ranked #1 while NC Lee was two basically came down to Tomasello beating guys that were more highly ranked during the season than Lee did, call it a "Quality of Win" component.

If you compare. The lowest ranked guy Tomasello wrestled all year was #61. Wereas Lee wrestled a #88, #95, #112, and #236 ranked guy at that weight. The WrestleStat rankings take into consideration the body of work done throughout the year not just the final results.

I know that seems odd, but think of it this way. If #1 and #2 wrestled 5 times, who would win that series? Lee/Tomasello wrestled 3 times this year, Lee won 2 of those 3. Lee also lost to the #7 and #15 guy where Tomasello lost only to the #2 guy.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is the championship not rankings.
