actually devote to it.

I've worked with plenty of home schooled kids who were excellent students and very well-behaved. Their parents kept them involved with a lot of activities outside of school, so they were well-socialized and had lots of friends who weren't home schooled.

Others, it was clear the parents just didn't want them in a school setting and that was all they wanted out of it. Their kids were appropriately not as well-adjusted and often not as well-educated.
