ASU: Neutral site wins against K-State and Xavier and a road win at kU. Zero losses in non-conference. Also beat USC head-to-head.

USC: Neutral site wins against Middle Tennessee and New Mexico St. and a road win at Vandy. Four losses in non-conference including a pretty bad home loss to Princeton (#191 in KP). Lost to ASU head-to-head.

Seems obvious why ASU got the nod over USC despite a lower finish in conference play and tournament.
