though several trolls here ( Le Tigre, zounami)seem to continually want/need to take potshots at the Porters, their aim is misguided. HCCM is running this team and anyone who sees a Tiger game live, and witnesses his sideline activity knows this. He's a no bs man which is a large reason several point guards departed. It's his way or the proverbial highway. . He decides the starting lineups, defensive and offensive plays, when to substitute etc. .He calls the shots. He will play a player when he thinks he's ready.

If Lisa and Michael Porter wanted to have their son not play, they just could have simply said that he's not cleared.The NBA will work him out regardless of what he does here. He will have to show GMs at some point, he approximates having the skills they have evaluated him as having previously. No big deal. The worse draft selection for him, if he chooses to come out, is 10.
