I honestly think the battle is lost

Marketing defeated common sense. No human citizen has any need whatsoever for weapons meant for battle, arms the sole purpose of which is to kill people. One does not have a right for such in any sensible society. The abuse of the second amendment has led to the US to so awash in arms that children die needlessly due directly to the ease of access to weapons that no reasonable man or woman would need. One's prospective want of such machinery does not in any way over-ride the danger such technology poses. It is all a big joke until you put somebody's eye out. There' wisdom in that.

America is pretty awesome and equally pretty stupid in ideas it holds that are counter to those held about everywhere else on this planet.
