by the government which is bi-partisan in nature to study the problem and come up with solutions using scientific methods. Provide this study with all the data it requires. Allow it to study wether reductions in certain types of guns or ammo will reduce violence. Allow it to study which policies have helped the most in reducing gun violence. We have 50 states with 50 different gun policies. Some with extremely lax laws and some with extremely tight laws. That should provide plenty of evidence-based statistics about what kind of gun control is most effective. It's crazy that we haven't really allowed this research to be fully done before deciding on changes in policy.
