You go by exceeding preseason expectations usually and most success. UT was picked 13th and is almost in the top 10 and on the line for a top 5 seed. Auburn shouldn't win because Pearl created his own issues and is not exceeding expectations as much as UT. Heck with your logic give the award to Mike Porter Sr. since this team probably wouldn't exist if he hadn't brought his kids here.
