In the first place, abortions are available without restriction. If the reason for aborting the baby is economic, there are plenty of couples who seek babies to adopt. So, there is no honest economic reason. To accuse pro-lifers of not caring about the baby's needs after birth is a straw man argument and a facile lie. If they truly can't afford to raise a child, there is the adoption option. But I suspect that welfare acts as an incentive in many cases--perhaps most. Pro-lifers also fall on both sides of the welfare question. Your generalization is a lie.
There is one form of birth control that is 100% effective: abstinence.
