Was Bill Clinton not a Rhodes Scholar at the time? That seems a pretty legitimate use of a student deferment. Iam not a big fan of Bubba's and I was around at that time and knew tangentially the efforts many took to avoid being shipped to Vietnam. As the NYT article suggests, the shadow cast is long. Perhaps it was just another example and a glaring one separating American class.
