At least new Mizzou coach Cuonzo Martin had something to work with, unlike poor Travis Ford at SLU last season after succeeding Jim Crews.
This is completely false. SLU's top 5 scorers last year were on Crew's team the year before. Ford was left with plenty of talent. The difference between what Ford did and what Cuonzo did is that Cuonzo added a lot of talent to go with Kim's players and Ford was forced to basically replay his first year with Crew's players. The reason we aren't something like 5-6 right now is because we have Robertson playing 30 MPG instead of CVL, we have Tilmon playing 19 MPG instead of Nikko, and we have Jontay playing 22 MPG instead of Mitchell Smith. Those 3 players alone are worth an extra ~15 PPG over a full Kim Anderson team.
And if this team had a health MPJr, you would see less of Puryear and Barnett and there minutes would be replaced by a better player. That's how Cuonzo is going to pull us out of Kim's cratering. Getting players to replace Kim's.
