If yes, then you understand the dangers associated from bullets ricocheting off of objects and hitting other objects, including people and property. It is inherently dangerous to discharge a weapon in a public area when you cannot determine where the bullet lands. There is a saying in the law, intent follows the bullet. This is an acknowledgement that intent to shoot the bullet carries with it the responsibility for where it lands. In the case of an unintentional, but still inherently dangerous careless discharge of a weapon, it carries with it the responsibility for the careless discharge and the results of your carelessness. That is this case. And this is why it is called involuntary manslaughter. It's not an intention to harm, but a carelessness which results in a homicide not intended.
