At the very least it was manslaughter, since he discharged a firearm in a careless manner with complete disregard for safety.
Manslaughter would be no different if someone was driving recklessly and caused an accident resulting in a death.
The fact they even wavered on the unlawful possession charge shows their complete ignorance.
But he wasn't a white male citizen, so the jury let that cloud their decision-making.
