he holds are much closer than those pushed by the Dems.

At one time the Dems welcomed Christians and their values into the party. They are no longer welcome there.

Pro Life - Dems wont even let you speak

Gay Rights - You better support them 100% or you are not welcome

Religious Rights - You had better be willing to give all of them up or you will not be welcome.

For a Christian the GOP is the only party willing to uphold your personal values and rights.
