comparative religion.

It would be very useful for Americans to have an understanding of how Christianity agrees and disagrees with other world religions.

The problem would be finding qualified teachers to teach it in a neutral way. You would not want it taught by a bible thumper nor would you want it taught by a virulent atheist.

Everything in American culture has become us -vs- them and a class such as this would just be a breeding ground for that. Taught correctly it would be a great tool, I doubt it could be taught correctly.
