is to clarify that the US government is restricted by the US Constitution to not infringe upon the rights of people (anywhere, citizen or not) based upon these "inalienable rights".
If you want to take it up with the guys who wrote the Constitution, do so, but pickle didn't introduce the concept of rights here.
Many here think the US govt "Grants" rights. that's the misconception to correct.
Rights exist (call them waht you want) and constitution outlines and enumerates its powers and restricts the US govt from infringing upon those rights.
