provides free charging & he figured he would basically get the car for free at about 100,000 miles in fuel savings, even with low gas prices.

He loves it, but his wife was originally against it. Now she takes it most of the time when she has a choice.

It is so quiet it is eerie. Your first reaction when he takes off is... hey, it popped out of gear & is rolling. He said a common reaction when he pulls into parking lots are that people walk in front of him or almost do not realizing he is there and then do that startled jump kind of freaking out that he's a couple of feet from him & they had no idea he was there. That's even with some relatively quiet noise generator at slower speeds.

One big problem he had, though was a dead cell. My oldest son was meeting him close by to ride to work with him (he was interning there). But when my son got in my BIL's car wouldn't "start". Some error popped up & it wouldn't do anything. It was still very new & the dealer had it towed in. It took a couple of days or so to determine that they were going to have to replace the entire battery pack. They must have shipped it on a slow boat from China (or Japan) because I think it took about a couple of weeks or so before they got it. He got a nice rental car, though. He complained at first that "Hey, I have to buy gasoline for this one", but figured it worked out either way... he was getting free fuel to offset the cost of the vehicle, but here he was getting a free vehicle to offset the cost of the gas. Whatever.

I drove it & liked it. It had decent pickup, though not like the Tesla "ludicrous mode", I'm sure. He said he's getting another 20 to 40 miles or better range than advertised so far, but the cold affects it a lot more than the heat. He said the air conditioner seems to have almost no effect on range, but it clearly drops in colder weather.
