How can that even be argued?? I don't even think Trump dislikes Ball overall. I think he knows Ball is a willing dance partner that will attract his base.
First of all, the "ungrateful" narrative. This word has been trotted out almost exclusively to successful black people. They should be grateful that this nation ALLOWED them to be successful. Allowed. I have never heard that Wall St. execs should be grateful that they were allowed to make money. They full well earned it in the eyes of the people. But when a black person makes money, they need to be thankful and soft spoken.
Also, he has been focusing on this for almost a week! What if Obama focused on Ryan Lochte for a week? Wouldn't have happened. Because even though Lochte was in his 30's, the media called him a "kid" that made a mistake. And if Obama would've said "That was me" (like Trump did), he would've been eviscerated for not focusing on more important things, like the Navy ship that was missing. But since Trump is white, his patriotism is unquestioned (which drifts into a whole another topic, but similar). Greg Poppovich, Steve Kerr, and Eminem roast him by name. Very publicly. Never responded...
He was thanked by the players, and he kept on. He kept on because his base loves to see black people with hat in hand. You know full and well this would not have happened if these kids were white southerners. Trump would've said "Glad to bring them back home"...
This is a common theme. Whites feel that a black person should have power only if they allow it. And then, they should thank them and be contrite. Very turned off if a black person appears to be more successful than they are.
