2008 was a horrible year of results versus expecations

Oklahoma State punked us at home the evening after the two teams in front of us in the polls lost. We were the defaulted #1 team in the nation for an hour or two.
Turned around the week after and lost to Texas in Austin.
Ended the season losing to an unranked Kansass team.
Got our ish pushed in by Oklahoma so bad that they pulled their starters in the fourth (this is kind of joking, Big Game Bob had his foot on the gas for their BCSCG berth).
Barely beat Northwestern and most of us complained at the crappy bowl that we were picked to compete in.
We padded our stats against the likes of Buffalo, Nevada, SEMO and Illinois.
10-4 was an ugly year with such an elevated sense of what we could accomplish based on our talent.
