The slope of the line tells you the rate of change. For Obama's years in office you see a steady increase but the slope never changes significantly. Then look at the slope of that same line for the past twelve months.
There is a significant difference. You can argue that it will not sustain and you would probably be correct but Obama never had a year close to this. You can interpret the data however you wish but the raw data tells a definite story.
