Robertson/Barnett/Rau --- 20 PPG
Phillips/Puryear/VanLeer/Geist/Wolf --- 17 PPG
Nikko/Smith --- 0 PPG
Porter/Tilmon/Porter/Harris/Roberts --- 33 PPG
That is 70 PPG -- Maybe 75 by year's end. That's a good average. However, the more that number is (positively) affected by Freshmen, the more games Mizzou will lose.
Additionally, Mizzou will give up too many points - because of the minutes played by Freshmen.
Tilmon is an absolute stud - and will be lucky to average more Points per Game than Fouls per Game this season. Jontay just might be better than MPJ, but will go for 20 one night (at home) and 2 the next (on the road). Blake Harris can play -- but will face a steep learning curve this year in how to play team basketball.
Puryear, Barnett, Geist and VanLeer are known commodities who will limit their downsides (because of the Freshmen) --- but will also have their ceilings cut short (because of the Freshmen).
Bottom line - this team will (largely and consistently) be out-shot from the FT line on the road, will have more TO's than their opponent (MPG class-averaged), and will shoot for a very poor FG% by season's end.
The positives are Cuonzo Martin, MPJ, the athleticism (and match-up problems) for the opposition with the Freshmen, and the tenacity that CM will *demand*.
It will be a season of tremendous highs - as well as - WTF low's. We're in great shape ---- just don't expect much more than 20-22 wins...
