Shamet is a preseason All-American, scored 20 against Kentucky in the NCAA tourney, averaged double figure scoring and a high three point shooting percentage as well as a smooth ballhandler/penetrator/passer/smart player.

Whitt is truly an unknown. Aside from poor outside shooting, he generally seemed to wind up in the CMA dog house the same way Phillips is currently in Cuonzo's. SMU gives him a new lease on life and he says he's been working on his shooting, but how good a college player he can become is still very much an open question. We'll have to see.
