Those are the absolute first things that should be questioned. You're implying that you are thinking emotionally and not rationally. That is a totally ripe topic for a politics/philosophy discussion board.

Then don't go to a politics/philosophy discussion board. My blood pressure never boils when talking about my stances and thoughts; over the years, from learning and challenging myself personally or through discussion, I've arrived at philosophical stances that I'm nearly 100% confident with.
