And showed my math in my response. He would have been promoted to Captain after 42 months in service. His maximum Time in Service as a CPT to be promoted to Major is 7 years (3.5 + 7= 10.5 years). He got out at 10.5 years.
There is little chance ANY officer voluntarily resigns after 11 years service as they are over 50% of the way to a well earned pension. Resigning forfeits ANY pension ...
My experience leads me to believe this Acadamy Grad was not promoted to Major and was kicked out of the Marines because he reached the maximum Time in Service as a Captain and wants to justify why he is ‘back on the block’ and not serving in the Marines.
