Those who are upset over kneeling for the flag are part of the problem with our society. There is nothing illegal or immoral about kneeling. No one has a right being infringed by someone kneeling. So why worry about what others are doing if it doea not infringe on your rights?
Because the people who are upset want to control the behavior of others. They are intolerant of other viewpoints. They are the same people who vote for government to control behavior.
