why throw it to him there? Whitter was open on the same route he had caught twice on the drive. Simple circle route from backfield, with room to run after the catch. Even if it doesn't stop on a first down, as it should, get on the ball and clock it and still have more time than the four seconds we ended up with.
Of course being the fastest offense to a three and out for most of the game didn't help either.
