achieve it are not the same thing.

We have not been a good program. We've been a pretty damn mediocre program. I expect us to be good. I expect us to do the things required to be good.
And I, just like everyone of you, will be plssed if we win 23 games every year for the next 30 years.

Because, this is what 23 wins really is in a typical year....
It's 20-11 in the regular season
maybe 2-1 in the conference tourney
1-1 in the NCAA if your SoS is good enough to make the NCAA at 22-12....and in the SEC, it might not be.

Typical year, 13 non-con games...say you do well and go 10-3. That makes you 10-8 in conference play. About 6th place.

And keep in mind, compared to the last 30 years, our league is easier. We should do better than we did.
