through a hotel. he was an avid gambler and frequently stayed for extended periods at the place, so him carrying lots of stuff up to his room over the course of several days isn't really an odd occurrence.

i'm sure they'll find things on his computer, just like they found potential bomb-making components in his home and records of large money transfers from his accounts.

he wasn't a 'normal' guy, but he didn't appear to be a madman walking the streets screaming gibberish to passersby either. people go from 'normal' to crazy a lot easier than we'd like to believe. some people go real crazy real fast. and there's not a lot to prevent that.
