1. Mizzou's AD revenue for 2016/17 year was just under 100 million. Expenditures were about 96-97 million. The AD's revenues have been increasing by about 3 to 5 million each year and the expenditures by the same amount with a one year lag, i.e. year #1 if revenue is X, in year #2 expenditures are X.
2. SEC distribution for 2017/18 is expected to be about 8 million more than 2016/17. However: (a) every other SEC school is getting the same 8 million increase, and (b) bleeding a million a game on each home football game wipes out that 8 million increase pretty fast.
3. The SEC distribution is not likely to continue to grow at the same rate as the past couple of years.
4. Mizzou is under pressure from SEC to upgrade its facilities, etc. in the minor sports.
5. The AD may still owe some or most of the 14 million the University advanced to the AD to cover the shortfall caused by the forfeiture of the last Big XII distribution due to the SEC move.
6. Mizzou's regular budget issues probably mean the University will not be as able to cover an AD shortfall as in the past. Therefore, more pressure on the AD to cash flow which means the AD probably has to spend more conservatively than it would otherwise.
