NFL season is longer than college. Even longer if their team makes playoffs or more.

New staff would be assembled late, 1st year recruiting will be crippled, and this is the year Missouri has a bumper crop of recruits.

Unless it's a huge name, like Pete Carroll, the late start will put us behind every other dumpster fire trying to start again.
