two classes away from graduating he dropped out to go work on oil rigs.
When he had a family he decided to move back to KC because he wanted a more stable life than being a roughneck.
Around 85-86 he called up rolla to see what he needed to do to graduate and they looked at his transcript and said he was close enough and mailed him a diploma.
That always cracks me up because Universities are big business now and there is no way they would let a guy graduate without paying a couple thousand for that last class or two.
