Watched the Odom interview from the MU site after the scrimmage. Odom was doing his best Ned Yost impression, seemingly annoyed to even have to answer questions from a rep from his own university for their website. Amazing that guys at this level don't understand that the media can be used to help their programs. I realize they can be annoying, take time, and be negative, but in the case of MU football, you can't afford to blow them off like you are Alabama or some program that doesn't need to promote itself.
When it comes to recruiting St. Louis, KC, and the rest of Missouri, your program should be out there as much as possible, and instead we are a couple weeks from the season and you have to work to find anything on what's going on. Winning will take care of it to some extent, but you can definitely get some momentum even before real games with the proper approach to dealing with the media. Just amazes me, especially with a first time head coach, that his boss doesn't explain this is an essential function of his job and get him some training on doing interviews so he comes across more positively. He is the face of the program after all.
