Coach Burchard will tell you that Jackson is one of the most fundamentally sound players he has ever coached, very deliberate about his body movements on the court. NAIA all America this year. Jonah, I understand, is in line to start at center at Mizzou because of his body control, and simply knowing and practicing precision with his technique. Hudson is the same way about his golf. Their older brother Skylar played at Westminster and holds the scoring record in men's basketball.
All this body control and deliberate body movement I attribute to their dad practicing tai chi with them at dawn in the front yard every morning. I would pass them every morning on my run, and you could tell that the kids were not all into that much, but the dad was just a tai chi fanatic - full on wearing a unitard and rainbow headband brewing herbal tea with a little camp stove in the driveway while playing finger chimes to keep count in their movements. I guess it paid off. I still see the dad from time to time doing his tai chi, usually with body paints and a hemp lace man thong.
They have a cousin that is a really good softball player. I think she will play in college.
