Duffy went longer than 1 inning 2 times.

Duffy wasn't used as a "long reliever" he was used as a reliever. Duffy had been used in that role a bunch even outside the playoffs when he struggled.

You can't just put any starter back in the pen and call him a long reliever. Also, typically long relievers are coming in after your starter is yanked early usually due to getting beat pretty bad. If you need 3 long relievers in the playoffs you aren't going far.
