WADR, the statement that race is a human construct is academic sophistry. The different races have different physical features from height, facial structure and hair texture. Those are clearly not social constructs.
I said they are likely human constructs. By that, I mean that what we understand to be a "race" is really just a blunt approximation of shared characteristics. It's not a brightly defined process, which is the inherent problem with collective approximations of unique individuals. I am not sure anything is gained from operating with such a collective vision. I believe that collectivism should be rejected as much as possible.
Given innately different physical characteristics, why should we believe that there are no intellectual or emotional differences as well?
Every person is unique with respect to their physical, intellectual, and emotional characteristics. So, yes?
2. If cultures are not the same, are some more advanced than others? And please don't say that the tribes in the jungles of bolivia are the equal of western culture but they prefer loin cloths and mud huts to jet engines and cell phones.
Again, I somewhat reject your premise. But sure, some geographical areas of the earth (call them cultures, if you want) are more advanced than other areas.
4. Do you agree or disagree with the police officer who described certain crimes being more likely committed by certain ethnic groups?
Which crimes? I need to see the quote.
5. Can you explain the preponderance of black NFL cornerbacks and asian engineers and scientists?
Those particular individuals are good at what they do.
