But things like classic bowl games? It's highly likely there are at least some rights issues they'd have to negotiate. Just like Mizzou can't put up the 2007 Cotton Bowl on mutigers.com, the SEC Network can't play old games that aired on other channels without paying to do so.
It's not about whether rights fees were paid in the '40s or '50s. It's about ownership. Schools definitely do own old photos and old video, but they don't likely own a whole lot of game broadcasts.
Historic documentaries are another issue. That's likely less about rights and more about manpower. Good documentaries take a ton of work.
