instead of owning up to the decisions that were made and why they were made, the efforts to disguise and explain after the fact make the situation much worse.

There would have been political fallout over Benghazi for sure, but I'd much rather have heard - we deemed it strategic to have resources there. Diplomatic postings in some areas can be very dangerous and hard to protect. By the time we realized the danger, it was too late to get there to protect. But that NEVER happens.
