murderers. Why would I advocate for the killing of a doctor?

Let's say a man is plotting to kill his wife and the cops know this. Should they kill him or arrest him? Would anyone say that physically harming him is justified unless he has tried to violently resist arrest? How is that different than a doctor who has an illegal abortion practice?
