While I believe Jontay Porter is a great player I dont see

Him starting for this team. For one he wont report until July, so he will be at least a month behind the other players. Two, while he has been dominant on the EYBL Circuit, its like a man upon boys there. Jontay has a very "finesse" game that I dont know will transfer well to the D1 level. He is very skilled, but he is not s banger. He doesnt play above the rim and he doesnt appear to be a great leaper. Im not sure that the current set of moves he uses he could get away with on the D1 level. He is a good shooter and a pretty good passer. He handles the ball well at his size, but not elite. Ne needd to put muscle on his frame as right now its just "size". He CAN and WILL contribute to this team and has the tools to be an NBA level player. But to come in and start day 1.....I dont see it. He needs a year of development to become the player everyone on this board THINKS he is. That stuff he is doing against high schoolers wont work high level D1.
