right now, like '07 good, I don't think Nubs would pilfer the State. With Riley, you'll probably not lose more than you win, but you'll not be back to elite level. The landscape has changed a lot in CFB since the Tommy Frazier days and you haven't made any program changing hires since Osborne retired. Don't know for sure, but it seems like the ones making those hires thought it would be plug-and-play and that simply didn't work out.
In terms of how I think of the big 10, immediately tOSU and Michigan come to my mind, with Nubs, Wisky, Sparty, Iowa and PSU all kinda' lumped in together. Doesn't mean anything other than my opinion, but I haven't thought "damn, Nubs are loaded and so much better than anyone else," since the mid-90s. And I'm going to bet that's most college football fans who aren't Nub fans.
Now if you would've hired Meyer or Harbaugh, then for sure you'd be back near the top.
