what's slowly unfolding with the 2018 class with recruits and a transfer from TX, Alabama and Florida. As has always been the case, they could end up being better than any of the MO players, AND they aren't waiting to see what happens with MU in 2017 (although they could change their minds as well - one or two usually do).
Now imagine if MU wins 8 or more this season. Regardless of how many of the MO guys sign, and it looks like 2-3 max at this stage, I think the staff will continue to bring in solid players from other states just as Pinkel did. I don't know why it's this way with MO guys, but MU might as well focus on guys who want to be there. It's easy to say "MO guys just want to get out and experience something else," but that doesn't seem to be as true in other states.
As an aside, it's interesting to me that, after all the debate over whether putting recruiting emphasis in the SE over TX was a good idea or not (and Odom subsequently refocusing on TX), two of the current four 2018 verbals are from Alabama and Florida with more on the way if Foster is able to convince those other guys to come with him, and seven or eight guys for 2017 are from Dixie. And I'm not saying they shouldn't focus on TX, it's just interesting is all.
