Oh those swim meet trips, those brutally early practices, those Bob Dylan Concerts I took her to and the Widespread Concert she took me to. I coached her softball team in grade school too. I remember her glorious rebellion at 13 with the purple hair on the trip to Brooklyn and a while after we drove across the Veranzanno Narrows Bridge into Queens, I pointed ahead saying "there it is" and my little girl turned back into a little girl as her eyes spread in wonder as she said "I SEE IT" as the Statue of Liberty appeared in the distance. Ah, what you remember.
