it is ok to call a special session of congress specifically to give tax breaks to an undisclosed steel mill in southern Missouri.
I wonder what company is in Greitens pocket to get this pushed through? Apparently no one knows, because no one knows what the name of the company is, including the Senator from the district it is located in.
"I would hate to see all the ratepayers have to pay more for their electric rates to subsidize a new business coming," Schaaf said.
"Has the governor talked to you about it?" Schaaf asked Libla.
"Um, not that I recollect," Libla replied.
"Are you telling me we’re in a special session to bring a steel mill into your district, and the governor hasn’t even talked to you about it?" Schaaf asked.
"As far as I remember, that is accurate," Libla responded.
Schaaf also asked Libla if anyone from the steel mill has talked to him or if he even knew the name of the company proposing the steel mill.
Libla responded, "I do not."
They went around and asked other senators if they knew the name of the company. No one did.
