In my book those guys were pretty crazy. Sane people do not do what they did. They don't. My generalizing is that those today who commit these crimes are mentally ill.

The Nazis were able to rise BECAUSE of Versailles Treaty. They got pretty well fcked by that. A lesson in history I guess.

That I don't get all bent out of shape like many over these violent acts is more a personal trait than anything. I also do not fall prey to the EASY response of blaming what I don't understand on the OTHER, on the MUSLIM. The very meaning of Islam is to life in submission to God, submission to the ALL-Pervasive Spirit that IS very cause and essence of the universe. That some pervert it to violent causes is terrible. They are criminals. Respond to them as such. Blaming "muslims" for terrorism is like blaming the German baker for the crimes of the Nazis.
