Coaches can't attend summer events during the "dead period" and watch non-committed players, but there is an exception for parents. Thus Porter Sr Can attend these events outside his role as an assistant coach and be visible with other recruits until Jontay actually signs something or says something. So not only can he watch his son, but we can send an assistant to events with other players during a dead period.
