bad attitudes, run-ins with the law, NCAA probation, and had reduced scholarships. He lost 2 players during his first 3 years.

How about Scott Drew? He inherited a program in shambles. Unknown NCAA penalties, bad recruits from the previous coach. His players were allowed to transfer without having to sit out a year because of how bad the program was messed up. He didn't even have half the transfers of Kim in his first 3 years.
